How to Play Cipher Breaker
Cipher Breaker is a code-breaking game. A message made of shapes has been scrambled: every shape was replaced by a different symbol. Your job is to work out which symbol stands for which shape.
The setup
Each puzzle shows three things: a scrambled message (a row of symbols), the pattern type of the hidden message, and a palette of the eight possible shapes. A few mappings are revealed for free at the start — those symbols already show their true shape.
The four pattern types
- Palindrome — the hidden message reads the same forwards and backwards. If you crack the first half, the second half comes free.
- Repeating pair — the message alternates between two shapes, like ABABAB. Find the two shapes and you are nearly done.
- Stepping run — each next shape advances one step in a fixed order. Once you know two neighbors, the rest follow.
- Pairs — every shape in the message appears exactly twice. Counting helps: a shape you have placed twice cannot appear again.
How to play
- Tap a scrambled symbol to select it, then tap a shape in the palette to assign it.
- Your decoding appears under the scrambled message as you go.
- Press Check key. If every position is right, you win. If not, the game tells you how many positions are correct — but not which ones.
- Stuck? Hint reveals one true mapping, but each hint costs points.
- Giving up is allowed: Reveal solution shows the full key.
Scoring
Your score starts at 1000 and drops by 10 points per second and 50 points per hint. Fast, hint-free solves score highest, and your best score is saved in your browser.
