Daily Streak Tips

A streak is a small promise to yourself, kept one day at a time. These habits keep it alive.

1. Play early in your day

The puzzle flips at midnight UTC, which may be evening or afternoon where you live. Playing in the morning local time leaves the whole day as a buffer — a busy evening cannot break a streak that is already banked.

2. Protect the streak, not the stars

On a hard day, use a hint. A two-star win keeps the streak; a stubborn loss breaks it. Stars are for showing off, streaks are for keeping — when the two conflict, choose the streak.

3. Share your result

Posting your emoji result does two things: it invites friends to play the same puzzle, and it creates a tiny public record that makes tomorrow's solve slightly harder to skip. Social accountability beats willpower.

4. If the streak breaks, restart the same day

A broken streak is not a failed habit — it is a one-day gap. Win the next day's puzzle immediately and the new streak starts at one. Most long streaks have a break somewhere in their history.

5. Learn the rotation

The daily type rotates cipher → pattern → grid. If ciphers are your weak spot, practice Cipher Breaker on its off days so the next cipher daily feels familiar instead of frightening.
