How to Play Pattern Sequence
Pattern Sequence shows you five tiles and asks one question: what comes next? The tiles follow a single hidden rule. Your job is to find it.
What a tile is
Each tile has three properties: a shape (triangle, circle, square or diamond), a color (red, blue, green or yellow), and a number (1–9). A rule may change one, two or all three of these as the sequence goes on.
The kinds of rules
- Number progression — the number climbs by a fixed step: 2, 4, 6, 8…
- Color cycle — colors rotate in order while everything else stays put.
- Shape cycle — shapes rotate while the number climbs.
- Interleaved sequences — two rules woven together: the 1st, 3rd and 5th tiles follow one rule, the 2nd and 4th another.
- Sum rules — each number is the sum of the two before it.
- Doubling — each number doubles (wrapping around after 9).
How to play
- Study the five tiles. Check each property separately: what do the numbers do? The colors? The shapes?
- Tap one of the four options as your answer.
- A correct answer scores 10 points and a new, usually harder sequence appears.
- A wrong answer costs one of your three lives — and reveals the rule, so you learn from it.
- When your lives run out, the run ends and your score is saved if it beats your best.
Scoring
Ten points per correct answer, no time penalty. Long runs beat fast runs — patience pays.
